Good architecture is both practical and beautiful. It enhances the lived experience by addressing both our needs for poetry and functionality. It is the medium where art and science intersect. It strives to improve the place upon which it intervenes and to foster our relationship with the environment, the climate, and the earth.

Architecture never stands alone like an object within space. Rather, it extends far beyond the envelope of the building, influencing, and responding to the built context, landscape, and environment. Good architecture strives for authenticity. It does not resort to empty, theme park-like imitation of styles. Good architects understand space and scale and crucially, that God is in the detail. Only by resolving aesthetic and functional details authentically and intentionally does the architecture receive a voice.

Good architects introduce clients to new possibilities and ways of seeing. They think out of the box and pride themselves in solving problems. They care deeply about their product and enhance their client's ideas and bring them to fruition within the framework of a meticulously managed and documented project, acutely aware of time, budget, practicality, and appropriateness.

Sayer Architecture was founded in 2022 by architect, Sean Sayer and a large network of Freelance architects highly skilled in Revit are at hand to assist the practice.

Sean has 14 years of experience working in esteemed commercial practices on large scale, prestigious projects including the Mbombela Stadium, the V&A Silo District, Zeitz MOCAA, CTICC 2 & the Al Zour Refinery Campus. He also has extensive experience working on industrial buildings having completed Builders Express Kenilworth and alterations and additions to various Woolworths and Makro distribution centres and stores. He also acted as site architect on the Constantia Emporium and the V&A Canal District.

Throughout his career he has made a point of taking on smaller projects such as house design, extensions, and alterations. The result is an all-round experience which has afforded the practice the full and nuanced skill set required to deliver beautiful and practical buildings at the highest level and at all scales.
